Emerald Tolemac Tarot
The Emerald Tolemac Tarot has been a labour of love spanning almost 14 years. Every card has been carefully designed to tell a much deeper story than traditional tarot.
Rather than simply following established tarot symbolism, this deck weaves together the timeless legends of Camelot, the spiritual teachings of Christ, and many of the profound insights shared by my own spiritual teacher. Along the way, I deliberately removed many symbols that never resonated with me and replaced them with imagery that reflects my own spiritual understanding.
The meaning behind the name Emerald Tolemac will be explained in the companion guidebook that accompanies the deck.
After searching for years to find the right artist, I was fortunate enough to meet an extraordinarily talented illustrator from Indonesia whose name is Sonhaj. His patience, dedication and artistic skill brought this vision to life far beyond anything that I imagined. Every card began as a hand drawing before being digitally painted, resulting in artwork that is both detailed and deeply symbolic.

The Journey of the Fool
Every tarot deck tells the story of the Fool’s journey, but the Emerald Tolemac Tarot approaches that journey from a different perspective.
The Major Arcana follows the path of the Hero’s Journey, using the complete 17-stage framework described by Joseph Campbell. Each card represents a stage in the soul’s evolution as the Fool gradually awakens, faces trials, gains wisdom, overcomes the limitations of the ego, and eventually returns transformed.
As I wrote the interpretations for this deck, I continually referred back to these 17 stages, allowing each card to take its rightful place within the Hero’s Journey. This creates a story that unfolds naturally from beginning to end, rather than presenting the cards as isolated meanings.
